Il Frantoio
At Max's House
The Frantoio was the Belvedere oil mill, one of the 16 ancient ones located in the area. Oil was one of the most important resources in these lands. In the 1980s, Max, a Swiss gentleman, bought the property to build a tourist facility. There are still traces of him, like the Lari who protect this place. His grandson gave me the keys so that this village can continue to live in the spirit in which it was created.
It is a stone structure, typical of the Tuscan tradition. There are small flats and facilities available to all Borgo al Cielo guests, namely the swimming pool, the garden tended by Max's wife, the barbecue, the breakfast room and tables outside. Just a few steps away is the Piazza di Belvedere and the Palazzo... we are in a Albergo Diffuso.
